This cage worked great for me. I have three pet mice who all live in a big tank cage together. One of them, though, caught some conjunctivitis and I didn’t want the other two getting it from her. I bought this cage to house one of my mice for the 2 weeks of her medication. This cage was easy to put together and comes with all the essentials. Wheel, food bowl, and water bottle. Just add bedding, food, treats, chews, and places to hide! I also like the extra play compartment on top. I put her treats up there so she has to go upstairs to get them! While I do like this cage as temporary housing for my sick pet, I would not recommend this cage as a permanent home UNLESS you already have a lot of tubes and other cage add-ons. Even the fine print of the product will tell you that these cages are designed to have additions, and they say that in small lettering so that they cannot get into trouble for selling you a cage this small. No vet or animal expert could recommend a cage this size. My pets are mice, so they are about as small as you can get! Even for just my one little mouse, this cage is way too small. Small animals like mice, hamsters, and gerbils need A LOT of space to run around, climb, and dig. Just because you can physically fit a gerbil into this cage does not mean it’s enough room for the pet. A wheel is not enough — they need open ground to zoom around in!This cage is awesome for:• Temporary housing for a sick pet or for while cleaning the main cage• Adding another room to other cages, tubes, and compartments in order to give your pet the required amount of spaceThis cage is NOT awesome for:• Homing small animal pets for extended amounts of time without *substantial* additionsNote: If you have already purchased this cage as a regular home for your small animal pet(s), you are not a bad owner! Either switch to a bigger cage (look up bin cages — they are super cheap to make and offer enough space for your pet) or make sure to buy more cages and tubes to add to this one. It would honestly be cheaper to make your own than to add on to these, but if you buy this cage, you’re going to need to make at least double or even triple the space it offers as is.

First off, I’d just like to say that I’ve been dreaming of having a pink cage and mice for years. I love the color and it’s just an adorable cage. Further, I read up on mice before I bought them, and my only concern with this cage was the tunnel, because for some reason online it said that mice would need a stick in the tunnel to help them climb up. Well, while unsure of it at first, my mice got used to it in less than an hour and zip up and down it faster than you can wonder if they’ll make it. They have even drug wooden toys the same length that they are up as well as paper and food. I have three female mice and they absolutely LOVE cuddling, nesting, and taking treats up to the “apartment” as well as running up and down the tunnel. I just can’t say enough how perfect this cage is! There is always a mouse on the wheel; they canNOT get enough exercise! They even climb on the wheel and climb the wire walls which maximizes the cage’s space even more! I don’t know why some people say that their rodents have escaped, because if you put this together properly. they cannot escape. The water bottle is small but they take about 2 weeks to drink the whole thing anyway so who cares? GET THIS CAGE! You will not be disappointed!!!Also, if you are getting mice, this is what you will want/need in addition to this cage: food, bedding, small wooden chew toys, ripped up paper, empty toilet paper rolls, and cheerios. I use Carefresh paper bedding and this cage does NOT smell! You can’t even tell where they go to the bathroom. Just dump it all out every two weeks and you’re fine. They need to chew on wood to keep their teeth from getting overgrown, but they also LOVE to chew up paper/toilet paper rolls. The paper they use for nesting too and they must think that it’s a treasure with how happy they are when I add new paper. (Add some extra bedding in the “apartment” because that’s where they’ll sleep, and who doesn’t love a soft bed?) Also, they love hiding/tunneling in the toilet paper rolls. Mine love cheerios and it’s a better choice that the mouse treats on the market because A.) One box will last the whole mouse’s life and save you $$$, and B.) other treats have artificial colors and flavors as well as a ton of fat and sugar. One final thing, and this is important: Mice do NOT like to live alone. Your mouse will not live long as it is, but it could die from depression if it lives alone. I got three because if one dies, there will still be a pair and then I will replace the one that died.If you are reading this and haven’t considered mice, I have to say that they are so entertaining and SO low maintenance and easy to have as pets. I do not hold mine because they are too fast to catch and will not sit still to be held, so don’t get them if you want to hold them. However, they love when I talk to them and are so sweet and fun! AND CHEAP! They are $3.99 each at Petco and the 25lb. bag of food I bought will last forever. #mouseloverforLIFE
