    This product is good & works as advertised, but since it’s wooden, it didn’t work out super well for my rats. To all rat owners who may be reading this: maybe rotate these often with replacements OR shoot for a material less porous, lol.

    I had to make some repairs to them to get them to work. First, a few of the screws where not properly glued in so when the wing nuts are installed it just pulls the double ended screws right out. Also the wood was pretty rough on several I of the pieces so I had to sand them to make them safe for my rats to use.Once that was done I still had trouble because the critter nation cage has square stock corner pieces that prevent the large platform from going all the way into the corner, so one side or the other is not going to be able to be attached. I had to attach the long side with the two screws then drill a hole in the short side and use that hole to tie it to the cage, but the screw could not be attached to the cage because it was too far from the cage wall because of the corner piece holding it out. If you have one of the small wired cages or one with no metal posts in the corner then it should be able to be installed with all three screws easily accessed through the bars because nothing will hold the platform away from the corner.I like that the set had so many platforms that could be installed. I was able to make lots of hoping points for my rats to get from one side of the cage to the other and up several levels in the process. My oldest rat started chewing on the wood straight away, but I think it was more to test out this new object in his cage. Everyone else enjoyed the new levels they could go with all the new steps around the outside edges of the cage.The platforms seem sturdy enough. There were not enough flat washers included to use a washer on the inside and outside of the bars so i added a few of my own. I find that they are sturdier this way and tend to do less separation of the bars when they are sandwiched between to washers. My rattos are loving their new additions.

    I bought these for my two chinchillas. They are nice enough. The wood is mostly sanded with mildly rough corners. The small pieces are just simply too small though. It’s not enough surface area for a chin. The corner piece is nice, so if you wanted to buy these for parkour and pair it with some larger shelves, that could work.

    The shelves that WEREN’T broken are working great for my chinchilla but two of them were already broken on arrival and rendered useless.

    Overal happy with the product, came as expected and my chinchilla appears to like hopping on the extra space this gave him. Just make sure you mount the platforms strategically as to not bend the cage wires.
